CINCINNATI—OneSight, the global vision care non-profit founded and sponsored by Luxottica will be launching a new “Victory is in Sight” campaign, along with a totally revamped website, tomorrow. The organization said the campaign, which will appear everywhere from BuzzFeed to social media platforms and neighborhood cinemas, is the biggest and boldest campaign for access to vision care that it has ever launched.

“One in seven people in the world cannot see clearly, because they lack access to eye exams and glasses,” said Mony Iyer, president and executive director at OneSight. “Glasses do so much more than give clear sight. They help fight illiteracy. They help combat poverty. They help resist inequality. At OneSight, we believe that the fight for access to vision care is the fight for human potential.”

The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness about the powerful difference a simple pair of glasses can make. The campaign invites individuals and organizations to go to onesight.org/act to get involved.

“What is inspiring about OneSight work is that solutions exist,” said Shawnta Buckner, senior director at OneSight. “Vision Care clinics allow us to meet immediate needs and Sustainable Vision Centers establish a permanent place for people to go and receive affordable eyecare for generations to come.”

“Victory is in Sight” is a fully integrated campaign that will run in print, out-of-home, online and in cinemas in National CineMedia’s. The campaign will expand into over 1,000 retail stores in the U.S., with the support of Luxottica, OneSight global founding sponsor who is supporting the campaign by engaging its brands, employees and customers around the world.

Independent eyecare professionals are also encouraged to take part in the new OneSight initiative and the “Victory is in Sight” campaign, noted Laura Lewis, senior manager integrated marketing for OneSight. She told VMail, “We are more than happy for ECPs to take part in OneSight’s campaign, which has been over a year in the making. We’ll be providing more detail and resources to them, but anyone can email me (LLewis3@onesight.org) directly to learn more.”

The campaign centers on a 30-second “Victory is in Sight” video that demonstrates how OneSight Vision Clinics and Centers are helping people live to their potential. This video is supported by shorter 15-second Personal Victory videos that tell individual stories. The campaign has been developed in partnership with creative agency Truth Collective and media partner Canvas Worldwide. All of the people featured in the campaign are people whose lives have been impacted by OneSight work in communities in the U.S. and around the world.

Alongside the campaign, OneSight will be hosting a series of Vision Care Clinics in the following U.S. cities: San Diego, Calif.; Cincinnati, Ohio (Nov. 11-18); Duluth, Ga. (Nov. 11-18); Kansas City, Mo. (Dec. 2-9) Washington D.C. (Dec. 2-9), and Charlotte, N.C. (Dec. 10-16).

OneSight, a global nonprofit 501(c)(3) sponsored and founded by Luxottica, is dedicated to providing sustainable access to a comprehensive eye exam and quality eyewear to those in need around the world. Over the past 29 years, OneSight has helped 9.5 million people in 46 countries and 49 states see clearly. With the help of dedicated partners, over 50 permanent vision centers are operating today, providing ongoing access to vision care to more than 7.5 million people.
