PORTLAND, Ore.—PECAA, a nationwide doctor alliance group currently serving over 3,500 independent eyecare professionals, announced its 2019/2020 Regional Leader Team to its membership last month. The roles were filled by member doctors who will work to connect PECAA members in their local communities by helping foster doctor camaraderie, peer sharing of best practices and member engagement at regional events. The Regional Leaders, who have committed to serve two-year terms, were flown out to the PECAA headquarters here in January for an in-depth training of PECAA’s programs and what the organization does to support its members.

“We were excited to bring the Regional Leaders to the home office in order to educate, engage, empower and energize them as leaders,” said Dr. Mike Korthals, PECAA’s Regional Leader program director. “We were very pleased to see how full of ideas the new group of leaders turned out to be. We are hoping they will be the avenue by which we bring a greater sense of community to our members.”

PECAA's general manager, Jamie Hughes, added, “I am thrilled with our incoming group of Regional Leaders. We have many new faces and many returning leaders and collectively, they are a lively and passionate group of highly skilled optometrists. The entire PECAA Team is excited to see how the program develops over the next two years.”
