CENTRAL POINT, Ore.—Quantum Innovations, a pioneer of anti-reflective coating solutions and ophthalmic equipment, has completed a five-year distribution and service agreement with Optimal Technologies, a global leader in the manufacture of ultrasonic cleaning and coating processing systems for over 20 years. The agreement extends to North, Central and South America. Based in the U.K., Optimal Technologies specializes in the design and production of aqueous ultrasonic cleaning and coating systems worldwide. The company, formed in 1997, is best known in the ophthalmic industry with its UCS and CHC range of systems, as well as equipment for the precision optics, semi-conductor and medical implant industries worldwide.

The immediate objective of the partnership is to provide 24-hour “boots-on-the-ground” service and support for all current and future customers, both within and outside the ophthalmic industry, Quantum said in a statement.

“Optimal is that rare company that not only shares our care for customers and communities, but also shares our passion for innovation and technical know-how,” said Norm Kester, founder and CEO of Quantum. Dean Thompson, Optimal’s managing director, remarked “Quantum Innovations not only has the technical expertise to support our customers in the Americas, but they fit so naturally with the Optimal culture, it was a wonder that we didn’t join forces years ago.”

Quantum Innovations, headquartered here, has specialized in thin-film coating technology and support for the ophthalmic industry since 2002.
