LAS VEGAS—“As we close out Vision Expo West’s 30th anniversary, we reflect on the many changes both Vision Expo and the industry have seen over the past three decades,” show organizers said. “When the Show made its debut in 1988, Vision Expo welcomed 6,199 attendees and 287 exhibitors and this year we close the Show with 463 exhibitors, including 70 founding exhibitors, and over 13,000 attendees. This year’s Show featured exciting brand activations, new Exhibit Hall neighborhoods and cutting-edge educational programs,” according to show organizers.

Moving forward, the Vision Expo team will continue its efforts to ensure the success of the optical community and to give back to the industry. Proceeds from the Show will be put toward The Vision Council’s groundbreaking advocacy, education and initiatives. The Vision Council advocates for the optical industry through full-time legislative and regulatory staff that engage in policymaking efforts in our nation’s capital.

The Vision Council also creates standards and communications to assist the industry alongside various detailed research reports. Consumer initiatives are produced in the effort to educate the public on the importance of receiving an annual eye exam, the effects of digital devices on the eyes, the harmful impact ultraviolet (UV) rays have on the eyes and the latest trends.
