Latest News Silmo d'Or Jury Honors 2019 Laureates By Staff Tuesday, October 1, 2019 12:21 AM PARIS—The Silmo d'Or jury, consisting of media, style influencers and other invited experts, made its choices and honored the 2019 laureates with the winning prizes during a special event held in Paris at Pavillon d'Armenonville on Sept. 28 during the Silmo exhibition here. The 26th edition of the Silmo d'Or awards ceremony gives prizes to recognize the creativity of the optical products for design, innovation andtechnology. The chair of the Silmo d'O this year was French designer and internationally-known interior architect Christophe Pillet. Silmo president Amelie Morel welcomed guests to the ceremony.The 2019 winners are: for Frame Technological Innovation, Freisicht with 'AvantGarde' for Children's Frames, Opal with 'Tartine & Chocolat TC AA353' for Optical Frames, Fashion Trend, Marni with 'ME 2632' from Marchon for Sunglasses, Fashion Trend, Sonia Rykiel with 'Endless Summer' from L'Amy for Sport, Safilo with 'Attack MTB ' from Smith for Contact Lenses, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care for Acuvue Oasys with Transitions for Spectacle Lenses, Leica Eyecare for Variovid Volterra for Material/Equipment, BBGR with 'LUMIZ 100' for Optical Frames, Eyewear Designer, Tarian with 'Graphic' for Sunglasses, Eyewear Designer, Caroline Abram with 'Divine' for Low Vision, Voxiweb for 'Voxione' A special prize of the Jury went to Jacques Marie Mage for 'Loewy' First Class went to Lightbird with 'Planet' A special prize for Visual Health went to Abeye for 'Lexilens' for dyslexia Photos and a description of the winning products are posted on the Silmo website here.The nominees spanned a wider group of companies from the eyewear, sunwear, accessories, technical innovation and instruments sectors of the industry, as VMAIL previously reported.
