LAS VEGAS— Organizers of the annual Marchon/EyeRock party, set for Vision Expo West on Friday Oct. 2 said they are expecting a strong turnout for this year’s event, which is taking on a new fundraising goal this year to support two non-profit organizations, Optometry Giving Sight and the Guide Dog Foundation. The “Club Marchon” party has been held for over 10 years during Vision Expo West and attracts between 7,000 and 9,000 attendees.

“We’re getting lots of positive feedback from our customers about the charity component,” said Donna Rollins, vice president, corporate brands and US sales operations for Marchon. “We’re looking forward to hosting our best event ever.”

Rollins said a representative from the Guide Dog Foundation will be at the party with a puppy in training, as well as at Marchon’s Vision Expo booth on Friday.

A main attraction at Club Marchon will be a performance by The EyeRock Band. The band, which has been associated with other successful industry fundraisers, consists of musicians from throughout the optical industry.

The party will also feature the Marchon Cool Pool Lounge, where guests can enjoy a Dean Martin and Maryiln Monroe show at 10 p.m., backed by a four-piece Las Vegas style band.

Varying levels of sponsorship will enable other companies/donating groups to have a presence at Marchon/EyeRock. The party will once again be held at the Flamingo Hotel, in Las Vegas, on Friday Oct. 2 from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

At presstime, sponsors included Altair, Essilor, Carl Zeiss Vision, Eyefinity/OfficeMate, Jobson Optical Group, Marchon, Signet Armolite, Transitions Healthy Sight for Life, and VSP.
