ALEXANDRIA, Va.—Think About Your Eyes, a national public awareness campaign about the importance of scheduling an annual eye exam with an optometrist, announced its advisory board members for 2019, led by incoming chairman, Dr. Rick Weisbarth. The board is comprised of a representative from each of the six leadership partners, and an at-large member representing and elected by Tier 2 partners. Dr. Weisbarth, who represents Alcon, succeeds Dr. Steve Loomis of the American Optometric Association, who will move to the non-voting role of immediate past chairman for 2019.

Jacqueline Henderson, vice president of marketing and e-commerce for Johnson & Johnson Vision, was elected as vice chair for 2019, and will replace Dr. Weisbarth as chair in 2020.

“I’m excited to lead Think About Your Eyes and look forward to the year ahead,” said Dr. Weisbarth. “The campaign continues to gain momentum in raising awareness about the importance of annual comprehensive eye exams.”

Also new to the board is Ken Bradley, chairman of The Vision Council and president of Eschenbach; Dr. Jacquie Bowen, trustee of the American Optometric Association; and Renee Himel, senior vice president of marketing for NVI, who was elected as the Tier 2 At-Large member. Sherianne James, chief marketing officer for Essilor of America, and Dr. Carl Spear, senior vice president of eyecare for Luxottica, will continue to represent their companies as board members.
