NEW YORK—On April 15, Vision Expo launched the Virtual EYE2EYE Series, a series of virtual panels and interactive conversations inspired by Vision Expo’s EYE2EYE educational series. The series features several panels originally scheduled for Vision Expo East 2020 presented in adapted formats, as well as new, timely conversations addressing current challenges in the vision community related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The series will continue this month with two events featuring editors from Jobson. The May 6 Coffee Talk session, titled Secure the Bag, will be moderated by Marge Axelrad, senior vice president and editorial director of Vision Monday and VMAIL. Starting at 12:15 p.m. EST, the session will feature a discussion with vendors on what their executive teams and sales organizations are doing to service and support their accounts during these times, the creative methods they are using to generate business, and their post-COVID-19 protocols for engaging with accounts.

Panelists will include:

• Brett Cates, sales representative at Garrett Leight.
• Scott Shapiro, CEO at STATE Optical.
• Katharina Schlager, creative director and CEO at Cazal.
• Jill Eldridge, regional sales manager at ClearVision Optical.

The May 8 Happy Hour, titled Independence @ The Creative Edge, will be moderated by James Spina, editor-in-chief at 20/20 Magazine. Starting at 4:15 p.m. EST, the session will pair Spina with a panel of retailers and vendors known for their keen sense of daring to break from tradition and explore the way they Do It Independently.

Panelists will include:

• Gai Gherardi, co-founder at l.a. Eyeworks.
• Jeff Press, chief creative officer at Morgenthal Frederics.
