Michelle Skinner (l) and Earnie Franklin
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.—VSP Global announced today the promotion of Michelle Skinner to chief network officer, and Earnie Franklin to chief operating officer. Skinner, who most recently served as chief provider relations officer, assumes expanded responsibilities to centralize the organization’s network business areas, including VSP Ventures, Eyeconic, and Provider Solutions, which includes doctor-facing functions, programs, and the VSP Global Premier Program. Franklin will be responsible for VSP Global’s supply chain, driving integration and alignment across the organization, including overseeing VSP Optics.

Having served most recently as chief technology officer and president of Eyefinity, Franklin will maintain responsibility for the organization’s enterprise technology, architecture, and innovation efforts. The role of president of Eyefinity, which Franklin most recently held, will be filled soon, the announcement said, and will report to Franklin.

Both Skinner's and Franklin's roles are new positions among senior leadership at VSP Global and their new roles reflect a reorganization of some responsibilities among executives of the group. Skinner and Franklin will continue to report to Michael Guyette, president and CEO of VSP Global.

“Through this go-forward structure, we will strengthen alignment across our business, helping us to continue meeting the needs of our stakeholders,” said Guyette. “Michelle and Earnie’s extensive experience, as well as that of our entire executive team, positions us to accelerate execution of our strategy and further deliver on our mission of helping people see.”

With the changes, Steve Baker, president of VSP Ventures, now reports to Skinner. Don Oakley, president of VSP Optics, now reports to Franklin. Bill Vaughan, who had headed Eyeconic made the decision to resign from his position and pursue other opportunities, the company said, noting that his direct reports now report to Skinner.

Guyette told VMAIL, "We appreciate Bill’s leadership and contributions over the last two and a half years, including driving our e-commerce business, expanding Eyeconic into brick-and-mortar locations, and growing our onsite clinic presence. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors."

Kate Renwick-Espinosa, president of VSP Vision Care, Nicola Zotta, president of Marchon, Wendy Hauteman, chief marketing officer of VSP Global and Pete Bridgman, president of Visionworks, all continue to report to CEO Guyette.
