Warby Parker's Summerlin, Nev. store
NEW YORK—Warby Parker is planning to open its second fully-owned prescription optical laboratory in Las Vegas later this year, expanding its West Coast footprint. A company spokesperson told VMAIL, "As the brand remains dedicated to providing best-in-class customer experiences, the new optical lab will enable Warby Parker to more directly oversee and control order lead time and quality assurance predominantly for orders placed west of Texas." The new lab on Sunset Road, with 69,500 square feet, offers "increased bandwidth, production and shipping, enabling the company to continue to scale its in-house manufacturing processes," the spokesperson said.

Warby Parker opened its first, fully-owned optical lab in Sloatsburg, N.Y., in 2016, as VMAIL reported. Recently expanded to 52,000 square feet, the facility, now employs over 120 employees. Operating as an essential business throughout COVID-19, Warby Parker implemented robust safety protocols, including social distancing, rearranged production lines, staggered breaks, and mandatory hand washing, sanitizing, and testing procedures, to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, the spokesperson said.

With over 30 retail locations across the West Coast, Warby Parker opened its first store in Nevada in November 2019, located in downtown Summerlin. The company currently operates more than 125 stores in the U.S. and Canada.
