They are: a free patient outreach program and “virtual” trade show events.
Top Line: The company will launch the free patient outreach program that is designed for practices to connect with patients and inform them of direct doctor-to-patient shipping options, a service provided by ABB Optical. ECPs can download a toolkit, which contains social engagement posts, e-mail communications and signage informing patients that, without even coming into the office, they can place their contact lens orders through their eyecare practice and receive their shipment at home. ABB Optical customers will receive an e-mail with information about the patient outreach program and instructions on how to access the toolkit.
Separately, ABB Optical will host virtual trade shows from March 23-27. This is in lieu of Vision Expo East’s recent postponement. The online events will feature free daily webinars, hosted by subject matter experts and industry leaders, and will focus on products, services and solutions intended to help ECPs optimize their business and better serve their patients, both now and in the future.

Burke also noted that ABB Optical understands the need to cancel events where groups of people gather. For this reason, the company opted to create the virtual events for its customers. “Our expert-led virtual trade show webinars are designed to bring important information directly to participants’ computer screens allowing them to engage with their peers differently,” Burke said.
