Product: Falcon Autofocus Bioptic
Top Line: The Ocutech Falcon Autofocus Bioptic, a self-focusing low vision telescope, is now available in 3x, 4x and 5.5x powers. Released in late 2018 in its original 4x power, the Falcon Autofocus bioptic is now being prescribed in the U.S. and in 11 foreign countries.
Close Up: The Falcon’s advanced Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology provides low vision patients with the most natural, hands-free magnified vision possible. Wherever the user looks, and as close as 13 inches, the image will be sharp virtually immediately allowing them to see clearly and effortlessly and as conveniently as normal vision, according to Ocutech.
Vital Stats: The crisp, bright, high-contrast Keplerian optics provide the widest fields of view possible in a bioptic telescope: a very wide 15 degree field of view in the 3x, 12.5 degree in the 4x, and 9.5 degrees in the 5.5x. Using its separate rechargeable battery, the Falcon will operate for eight hours on a single charge. The Falcon is easy and convenient for low vision specialists to demonstrate and prescribe, and it’s comfortable for patients to wear, weighing just 3.2 ounces.
