Quick Take: Mykita and Helmut Lang have collaborated on two eyewear designs, which debuted at the Helmut Lang SS20 runway show during New York Fashion Week. The two new styles, HL001 and HL002 will be released in Spring 2020.
Specifics: HL001 and HL002 were developed by the Mykita design team, which is led by founder Mortiz Krueger, as well as Helmut Lang’s creative director of ready-to-wear Mark Thomas. The designs are wraparound sunshields made of four individual lenses with contrasting lens colors. HL001 features a straight top line and double bridge that creates a, angular look. HL002 is more fluid, with a curved impression.
Selling Point: The Mykita and Helmut Lang collaboration is a colorful, bold design that furthers both brands’ reputation of challenging the status quo and elevating functional elements.
