OTTAWA, Ontario—On November 8, Transitions Optical Canada hosted the second edition of its Transitions The Studio, an educational event that saw over 80 industry professionals gather at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier in Ottawa, Ontario. The event allowed attendees to take a deep dive into the Transitions portfolio, discuss education strategies for professionals and patients and incorporate new business-building skills into their practices. At the event, Transitions Optical, in collaboration with the Opticians Association of Canada, announced the winners of the 2022 Students of Vision Scholarship Program.

Samilha Reza of the University of Waterloo Optometry will receive $2,500; Kallisha Burk of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology Opticianry will receive $1,500; and Anil Adhikari of Georgian College Opticianry will receive $500. The three students submitted winning entries that discuss how they will advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion in their coming roles as optical professionals.
