CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.—ABB Optical Group (ABB), a leading independent eyecare distributor, announced Wednesday changes within the company’s specialty vision product division, effective immediately. Pam Geimer, longtime consultant and partner to ABB Specialty Vision Products, has officially announced her retirement. Geimer has been a leader in the consultation and customer service industry, providing support to businesses across the country. Geimer has over 25 years of experience within the contact lens industry and has provided ABB with unmatched service over the years.

In 2013, she was certified as a National Contact Lens Examiner Advanced, which means she has advanced level knowledge and skills needed for ophthalmic dispensing and provides spectacle, contact lens and refraction services.
 
“ABB will miss Pam and all the valuable support and service she’s provided our team,” Andy Jackson, director of specialty vision products, said in the announcement. “We wish her all the best in her retirement.”
 


Angela Kasperek.
In addition, ABB announced the addition of Angela Kasperek as a consultation advocate. Kasperek has a wealth of knowledge in the optical industry, with over 15 years of experience in sales and management and is a New York State licensed ophthalmic dispenser.
 
Kasperek brings strong communication skills, contact lens experience and a drive for success to the ABB team, according to the announcement. In addition, she is certified by the National Contact Lens Examiner and American Board of Opticianry and has extensive experience with Ortho K products.
 
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Angela to the consultation team,” Jackson said. “We know her valued experience and diverse skill set will be an incredible asset to the group.”

ABB also announced the promotion of Dede Reyes to manager of consultation and education, specialty vision products. Reyes will now lead ABB’s consultation team, a group that consults on one of the largest specialty portfolios in the optical industry, according to the announcement.
 
At the same time, Reyes plans to continue as head of Specialty Education, which includes scleral lenses, Ortho-K, corneal GP’s, and the new dry eye division. The popular “Dede Talks” podcast and quarterly webinar series will also be part of Reyes’ continued efforts in specialty education.
 
“We’re thrilled about this next step in Dede’s career and ABB’s leadership team,” Jackson said. “She has been an amazing asset and we can’t wait to see all the great work she does in the future.”
