U.K. based charity Fight for Sight has brought together some of the country's leading ophthalmologists and research leaders to support a public letter addressed to the U.K.'s new government. The letter calls on the government to develop a new national plan on sight loss, and explains the country's "1 to 20" funding gap, in which only one percent of the U.K.'s public funding is invested in eye research in comparison to the 20 percent of people in the U.K. who will experience serious sight loss in their lifetime.
