FRAMES / Jacques Marie Mage Jax in Jet

LENSES / Zeiss Photofusion Blue lenses

“I love the bold retro look of these frames, I’ve been wearing round a lot the past few years so the soft rectangle is a fun change. I’m also really into the double laminated temples with the gold reveal.”

Bonni O’Hara, frame stylist, owner

Bonni has been in the optical industry since opening G is for Glasses with Jessie. “My story of getting into the industry started over wine and Scrabble at the cottage with Jessie and that was 5 years ago when we opened G is for Glasses.”

It’s hard to say how many frames she actually owns since “one can never have enough, especially sunglasses.”

FRAMES / Mykita Niba in ruby with champagne gold

LENSES / I don’t have a RX.

“I am in love with these glasses for many reasons. They fill up my face and I feel when I look at myself in the mirror my cheeks are covered. I love the color. I love how lightweight they are. I love supporting Amy our sales rep, she’s a real gem. I am totally into the large square lens shape. Last but not least they speak my truth—slowly turning into an eccentric aunt.”

Ken Bond, frame stylist

Ken has been in optical for 20 years after starting out as a multi-store manager with Sunglass Hut.

He never has enough eyewear styles.

FRAMES / Brower by SALT. Optics in antique silver.

LENSES / IOT Mobile progressive lens.

“This is a bit of a departure from what I usually wear. It’s been more than a dozen frames since I’ve had nose pads. They’re pure titanium and incredibly light weight, and I love the subtle filigree as well as the compliments. So many compliments.”

Kelsey Kinsman, frame stylist

Kelsey is in her sixth year in the optical industry. “I was looking for a job post university when an opportunity in the optical industry presented itself. It was supposed to be short term, but I fell in love with the industry and never left! I will be completing my NACOR exam this month.”

She owns “a baker’s dozen.”

FRAMES / Andy Wolf 4727 Col. D.

LENSES / IOT Freeform SV

“They are minimal and bold all at the same time, and who doesn’t love rose gold! They are super lightweight and very comfortable. I can hardly tell I am wearing glasses at all.”

Mel Peter, frame stylist and optometric assistant

Mel Peter has been in the optical industry for about nine months. “One of my best friends is an optometrist, so I have always been fascinated by the industry. When my contract at work was finished I felt I needed a change and somehow this job landed on my lap. It’s been the best choice. It also helps working with such amazing co-workers!”

She owns four optical and two sunglasses.

FRAMES / Andy Wolf, Victoria, Col. B

LENSES / IOT SV Freeform on a Centennial Optical Bluselect Lens

“I love how big and bold they are and how they pretty much take up my whole face. The blue lens itself is my favorite. Lately, you can find me stating around the shop that they are a ‘game changer.’”
