Susan and Christine have been working in the industry for 21 years. They met when they both worked at Rossland Optical—Susan was managing the optical’s social media and marketing, and Christine was a lab technician. The two later decided to partner up, and opened Eye Bar Optical Boutique in May 2019.

Lisa has been working in the optical industry for 17 years. She first applied for a job at the front desk of a doctor’s office, but, after interviewing with the optical manager, she was pulled into the optical department and hired full time.

Maggie has been in the optical industry for four years. After making the transition from teacher to working at a local independent eyewear boutique she fell in love with the optical industry, working first as a paraoptometric and then as an optician. After “stumbling” into the optical industry, Stacia has been working in eyewear for less than a year but is loving it so far.

Carmen has over 40 years of experience in optical. She started in her teens working for family friends who owned an optical shop. After having two kids, Carmen decided to start a wholesale laboratory in the basement of her home. She manufactured eyeglasses for retail sale and dispensed safety glasses to local businesses.

Sue started out in the optical industry working at The Optical Boutique as a licensed optician 25 years ago. She loved it so much she bought the store when the original owner decided to retire.
