SAN RAMON, Calif.—CooperVision, a global leader in myopia management, has kicked off its 2022 Myopia Management Workshop series. The immersive full-day events are designed to accelerate practices’ clinical and business success in the fast-growing sector. ECPs from across the U.S. recently traveled to Miami for 2022’s first gathering, which followed pilot events in Chicago and San Diego last year. Additional workshops in Denver and Boston continue the series. In addition to participating in interactive expert-led sessions, workshop attendees can also learn from their peers’ varied and valuable myopia management experiences.

These workshops provide optometrists and ophthalmologists, who are adding myopia management to their practice for the first time, opportunities to connect with doctors who have prescribed Paragon CRT for several years and MiSight 1 day soft contact lenses for myopia control in children aged 8-12 at the initiation of treatment following its 2019 FDA approval.

"We’re passionate about how myopia management can help our patients and CooperVision’s workshop reinforced that with a renewed sense of purpose,” said Nicolette Scott, OD, MiSight certified ECP at Broad View Eye Center. “After listening to top researchers discuss new clinical data and learning from the experiences of our colleagues, we returned home with strategies to help make our own myopia management program even better.”

In Miami, nearly 50 ECPs from 18 states convened for sessions exploring parent communication, practice management and marketing to help grow their practices with MiSight 1 day for myopia control in age-appropriate children and Paragon CRT for myopia management. Speakers included Maria Liu, OD, PhD, Berkeley Optometry; Brianna Rhue, OD, FAAO, West Broward Eyecare Associates; Steve Vargo, OD, MBA, Optometric Practice Management Consultant, IDOC; and Mike McDougall, APR, FPRSA, McDougall Communications, as well as CooperVision’s own Justin Kwan, OD, FAAO, and Leah Johnson, OD, FAAO.
