NEW YORK—Vision Monday has regularly been issuing its Annual Top 50 U.S. Retailers Report for many years. The special signature feature is widely-read throughout the industry and gauges the performance, expansion activity and estimated sales of the leading optical retailers and ECP groups in the U.S. The annual VM reports are issued in the spring of every year and are based on estimates of top retailers' prior calendar year sales for the 12 months ending Dec. 31.

The reports consist of several components, which are all issued in VM's digital and print editions and posted on VisionMonday.com. This includes a gauge of the proportion of the total U.S. optical market comprised by the VM Top 50, a ranking of those players by sales, many of which are VM estimates. VM has also looked at the leading mass merchants and wholesale clubs that operate optical businesses. And we've examined the Top 10 Retailers in Snapshots.

We have compiled a handy reference here of the PDFs of 10 years of these reports via this story.

Consolidation and organic expansion has always been a part of the VM Top 50 Report. In more recent years, in light of industry consolidations, the emergence of private-equity backed groups and the evolution of new players, in all sectors of the market, the VM Reports will continue to identify the rise of multi-channel groups and new market entrants.
