Are We Feeling ‘Blue’?

For anyone who’s ever undertaken a home improvement project, the colors you choose can make all the difference. Something as simple as the color of a room can cement the look and feel of any new space. Who knew color could be so important? Well, the folks at the Pantone Color Institute know a thing or two about color and the effect it can have on creating just the right mood or atmosphere. Classic Blue 19-4052, which Pantone describes as “a timeless and enduring blue hue elegant in its simplicity” has been named the Pantone Color of the Year for 2020. “Instilling calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a stable foundation…as we cross the threshold into a new era.” While there’s plenty to be anxious about as we head into 2020, it’s no coincidence that Pantone is trying to soothe our fears with this restful, calm-inducing color.

DES PLAINES, Ill.—After Shelley Kim, OD, graduated from Illinois College of Optometry, she, like many other independents, never really planned on opening her own practice.
