NEW YORK—Even while COVID-19 spread throughout the country over the past week, the U.S. optical business held its own, reporting flat revenues to slight decreases for the period, depending on the region, according to the latest Jobson COVID-19 Performance Tracker for the week ending July 26. With COVID-19 cases dramatically increasing throughout the U.S., even in some Northeastern states where the virus has previously been on the decline, according to the CDC COVID Data Tracker, the U.S. optical business remained either flat or declined only a few index points slightly across all service/product categories.

Taking to Instagram for UV Awareness

NEW YORK—Warm summer weather brings more time spent outdoors, so it makes sense that we celebrate UV Safety Awareness Month in July, at the height of the season. Although many associate UV safety with skin and sunscreen, we also understand how important it is to protect the eyes from harmful UVA and UVB rays. Last month, many ECPs have taken to Instagram to remind their patients just how important this is—and give them tips and tricks to keep their eyes safe in the sunny, summer months. There’s still plenty of time to spread the word—so here’s a look at how some ECPs are using social media for UV Safety Awareness Month.
