NEW YORK—After two years without a show, Mido 2022 kicked off in Milan on April 30 through May 2. The trade show was a celebration in more than one way: a reunion for so many, a marking of Mido’s 50th anniversary and a moment to welcome a new era with new energy. About 22,000 visitors from all around the world packed into the Fiera Milano Rho conference center for the event, coming together to network, collaborate and take stock of new technology and products.

NEW YORK and JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Cornell Capital LLC, a private equity firm based in New York and Hong Kong, announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Advancing Eyecare, a leading, North America-based provider of ophthalmic instruments, from Atlantic Street Capital. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, and comprising seven market-leading brands in eyecare instrumentation, Advancing Eyecare offers a one-stop solution for ophthalmic equipment and servicing needs to a diversified base of customers, ranging from independent eyecare practitioners to national chains, hospitals, teaching institutions and others.
