Shwood Launches Optical Collection
Quick Take: Shwood has expanded its product offering by launching the brand’s first Rx Collection.
Wearer: Male and female fans of the brand’s wood constructions and Made in America ethos.
Specifics: The collection includes eight unisex frames featuring Shwood’s top selling silhouettes and four newer shapes. Each frame is available in several variations of wood, acetate, titanium and stone materials.
Selling Points: Shwood’s Rx Wood Originals collection features an aircraft birch core and proprietary metal lens grooves for accurate fit and durability. The wooden construction is available in the Canby, Belmont and Eugene styles. The Fifty/Fifty Acetate collection is offered in six shapes including two core frames, the Canby and the Francis. New models include Quimby, Fremont, Astoria and the Newport. The new Rx option is also available in the ultra-lightweight Fifty/Fifty Titanium collection and is offered in three frames including the Fremont, Canby and Francis. Each frame is handcrafted in Shwood’s Portland-based workshop.

Altair Introduces New Bebe Eyewear Collection
Quick Take: For the spring, Altair is releasing an optical and sunwear collection for Bebe, inspired by the Bebe Rocker, Dreamer and Glam Girl.
Specifics: The Bebe collection will feature eight optical frames and six sunglass frames.
Selling Points: “Whether she’s a rocker, dreamer or glam girl, she’ll find a signature look that appeals to her individual style,” the company said. The 14 new styles will feature baguette logo crystals, iridescent lace, Austrian crystals, pyramid studs, and custom animal prints. Optical frames include Lady Vegas, a style with double-laminate crystal colorations; Lookin’ Good, a style with scattered studs on frame fronts; and Looks Could Kill, a style with custom animal print and metal pyramid studs. The eyeglass frames are available in colors like jet, midnight, topaz and rosegold. The six sunwear frames include LA Lights, an oversized cat-eye shape; Lovely, a modern, oversized square shape with Austrian crystals; and Lights Out, a frame with different custom animal prints outside and inside of the temples. The sunwear frames are available in colors like jet, topaz, ruby and powder blue.

Zyloware Expands Via Spiga Eyewear Collection
Quick Take: Inspired by the latest sporty styling, stones, studs and animal print trends, Zyloware expands its Via Spiga Eyewear collection.
