Quick Take: To provide patients with protection against blue light, VSP Optics Group is launching Sharper Image TechShield lenses.
Wearer: Last year, VSP Optics Group signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Shaper Image to manufacture and distribute optical-related products under the Sharper Image brand. Sharper Image TechShield represents the first of multiple Sharper Image licensed optical products being developed to enhance the lifestyle of today’s consumer.
Specifics: Sharper Image TechShield delivers targeted blue light protection in a proprietary, near-clear lens enhancement. Its unique defense technology provides comprehensive protection by both absorbing and deflecting incoming blue light to reduce the wearer’s amount of exposure.
Selling Points: “Blue light is illuminating today’s digital world, and a growing body of scientific evidence suggests that it poses threats to our vision and health,” said Dave Delle Donne, senior vice president of business development for VSP Optics Group. “By leveraging Sharper Image’s innovative brand and commitment to bringing life-improving technology to consumers, eye care professionals can easily discuss the necessity for protection with their patients and reduce their exposure to blue light with Sharper Image TechShield.”

Quick Take: Skechers Eyewear 2015 Kids collection by Marcolin USA features a youthful blend of refreshing and sporty accents.
Specifics: Ten ophthalmic styles for boys and girls.
Selling Points: According to the company, the Skechers Kids collection is perfect for today’s boys and girls, who are not only searching for bling and fun color combinations, but driven by the latest trends and brand awareness. In metal, a soft teacup silhouette captures the front profile of style SE1669, while model SE1570 showcases a more retro rectangle shape in acetate. To complete each look, a cute Sketchers ‘S’ logo adorns the temples. The new optical styles for boys incorporate sporty rubber accents and tech materials to withstand an active lifestyle. For children on-the-go, aluminum 180-degree spring hinged temples on models SE1092 and SE1093 provide additional flexibility, the company said. ClearVision Bows Dilli Dalli’s IntelliFlex Soft Touch

More Images
Quick Take: ClearVision Optical has introduced IntelliFlex technology and proprietary Soft Touch material to the Dilli Dalli pediatric collection.
Specifics: Four unisex styles designed for young children. Designed for eye sizes 36 to 44, Dilli Dalli launches the rounded Cupcake, oval Gummy Bear, rectangular Cookie Dough and wayfarer Tutti Frutti design shapes in a variety of flattering colors.
Selling Points: According to the company, Dilli Dalli with IntelliFlex Soft Touch is a one piece, highly flexible pediatric collection offering high performance and durability. Allowing frames to retain their shape after extended wear, Soft Touch is a thermoplastic co-polyester elastomer that provides the strength, flexibility and high performance of rubber, yet has a pleasant, “soft touch” feel. Suitable for multi focal lenses, IntelliFlex Soft Touch’s unique multi action, flexible temple design acts like a spring hinge; therefore, this lightweight design has no metal or separate moving parts. The collection’s standard optical “V” groove design eliminates the possibility of lenses popping out. Furthermore, the frames are designed with built up, flared nose pads to provide a superior, comfortable fit for very young children whose bridges are not yet fully developed. An adjustable nylon breakaway safety strap is also available for children who need additional frame security.
