Allure Eyewear Launches Kendall + Kylie Debut Sun Collection

Wearer: The Kendall + Kylie eyewear collection is inspired by the girls’ personal styles and is a reflection of the duality in their distinct fashion styles. The frames are sleek and elegant with an edgy vibe and offer striking silhouettes made of luxurious materials with iconic detailing throughout, the company said.
Specifics: The 13 styles in this debut Spring 2017 sunglass collection feature a combination of angular geometric shapes and contemporary signature pieces.
Selling Points: “Growing up in California, sunglasses have always been an essential accessory to any look for us,” Kendall Jenner said. “We are so excited to expand our Kendall + Kylie brand to include eyewear this season. This collection definitely has a unique feel to it while incorporating both of our personalities and tastes. Kylie and I made sure to use really unexpected lens colors like liquid gold mirror and orchid, but still keep the shapes very classic and clean.”
Some frame features include the abstract “K” chevron detail as well as the abstract “K” metal tip tac. Custom materials include black and white marble, opaque pink gradient, cream gradient and a milky demi gradient.
“With eyewear you can always have a little fun with it,” Kylie Jenner said. “I love the overall angular aesthetic we went for. We complemented each silhouette with the right mix of high-end materials, from matte and shiny metals, marbled acetates to custom gradient lenses. Each pair feels really special and is a perfect complement for our brand.”

Wearer: Rochester Optical recommends PolyShade85 for patients of all ages, especially children looking to wear sun lenses for outdoor and sport applications without compromising eye protection. The lenses also provide a solution to optical retailers who want to offer one-hour or same-day prescription sunglasses.
Specifics: PolyShade85 lenses allow an average of 15 percent visible light transmission and block up to 90 percent high-energy visible blue light, according to Rochester Optical. The company claims they are the darkest finished single vision polycarbonate sun lenses on the market.
Selling Points: Rochester noted that PolyShade85 lenses can be used in drill mounts, and eliminate the problem seen with tinted clear poly lenses of white edges appearing at the lens circumference. The tintable hard coat allows for further flexibility to fine tune desired transmission rate by enhancing darkness. PolyShade85 finished single vision stock lenses are available in -6.0D to +4.0D sphere out to -2.0D cylinder; single vision semi-finished blanks are available in .50 – 8 base curves, which offer additional power range possibilities and digital progressive designs.

Additionally, the 2017 Core collection lenses feature Costa’s patented 580 technology that filters our harsh yellow light and harmful shortwave blue light while enhancing red, green and blue hues which make them an ideal fit for water activities especially sighting fish. The frames are 100 percent polarized and available in various colorways and Costa’s five glass and polycarbonate lens colors that are built with changing light conditions in mind.
