NEW YORK—With the Fourth of July holiday upon us, one might think it’s too late to get together a summer reading list. Nonsense. There’s still plenty of summer left, and this weekend is as good as any to narrow down and finally identify a couple of books to read before Labor Day arrives in a flash 10 weekends from now. BENTONVILLE, Ark.—Walmart and Memomi, an AR optical tech company, announced they have entered into an agreement for Walmart to acquire Memomi. This reinforces Walmart’s commitment to frictionless and omnichannel optical care, the company said. Since 2019, Memomi has enabled digital measurements for all Walmart and Sam’s Optical customers, across more than 2,800 Walmart Vision Centers and 550 Sam’s Clubs, and also powers the optical e-commerce experience on SamsClub.com. The announcement said, "Acquiring Memomi, an AR company, is the next step in Walmart’s journey of offering personalized, affordable access to optical care.

NEW YORK and MILAN—Salutes and commentary from dignitaries, designers, colleagues, clients and competitors started to come through on Monday around the world on international media and social media as hundreds shared condolences and observations about the passing of Luxottica founder and EssilorLuxottica chairman, Leonardo Del Vecchio, who was 87. The news which broke Monday morning in Europe, was shared in a brief message by the company, as VMAIL reported.
