May is Healthy Vision Month, a national eye health observance established by the National Eye Institute (NEI) in May 2003. Millions of people living in the U.S. have undetected vision problems, eye diseases, and conditions. Healthy Vision Month is a time to raise awareness about eye health and strategies to help prevent vision loss and blindness.

Even though May is nearly over, it’s important to educate patients about the importance of comprehensive dilated eye exams in maintaining eye health and preserving sight, no matter what month it is.
