Almost 20 years in the making, producer and star Jeff Bridges helps bring Lois Lowry's popular young adult sci-fi novel The Giver to the big screen. The story focuses on a seemingly perfect world where a young boy named Jonas is chosen to be the community's Receiver of Memories. Jonas enters into training with an elderly man called The Giver, played by Bridges, and learns about the dark and deadly truths of his community's secret past. The film also stars Meryl Streep, Brenton Thwaites, Alexander Skarsgård, Katie Holmes, Taylor Swift and Cameron Monaghan. The Giver is in theatres now. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is an upcoming film noir crime thriller and sequel to the 2005 film Sin City. Co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, the script is written by Miller, and is primarily based on the second book in the "Sin City" series by Miller. The film is scheduled to be released on Aug. 22 and stars an ensemble cast. Jessica Alba, who appeared in the 2005 film, as Nancy Callahan, reprises her role in the sequel with her still dancing at Kadie's Bar but she has matured, hardened and is seeking revenge for her mistreatment in the first film. Men, Women & Children is an upcoming comedy-drama film directed by Jason Reitman, based on a novel of the same name written by Chad Kultgen. An ensemble story about a group of high school teenagers and their parents as they attempt to navigate the many ways the internet has changed their relationships, their communication, their self-image and their love lives. The ensemble cast includes Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner, Judy Greer, Ansel Elgort and Rosemarie DeWitt, among others. Men, Women & Children will be screened at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival at the beginning of September, with limited release on Oct. 3, 2014 and a wide-release opening on Oct. 17, 2014.
