NEW YORK—Marchon Eyewear has announced the appointment of Gabriele Bonapersona as chief brand officer and Gabriele Cappelli as chief product officer. Both will become members of Marchon Eyewear’s global management leadership team. The roles of chief brand officer and chief product officer will replace Marchon Eyewear president Thomas Burkhardt’s previous role of senior vice president of global brands, marketing and design for Marchon Eyewear. Burkhardt was named president in August of this year, as reported by VMAIL.

As chief brand officer, Bonapersona will oversee Marchon and Altair’s brand portfolio and their respective brand management teams. Bonapersona has more than 15 years of experience in the eyewear industry, with over 12 of those years spent at Marchon. Most recently, he held the position of vice president for European fashion and lifestyle brands.
As chief product officer, Cappelli will lead product design, product management and merchandising teams for Marchon and Altair. Prior to taking on this role, Cappelli held the position of vice president of global merchandising at Marchon; prior to that, Cappelli was the global product director at GrandVision.
Thomas Burkhardt said, “We are thrilled to promote within the company. Bonapersona and Cappelli have excelled in their previous roles at Marchon Eyewear and these promotions are well deserved. It also demonstrates the value of our succession planning efforts over the years.”
Marchon Eyewear is a VSP Vision company and distributes its products through a global network of subsidiaries and distributors, serving over 80,000 accounts in more than 100 countries.
