PADUA—Last week, Safilo communicated that it is in “advanced negotiations” with Thélios S.p.A, part of the LVMH Group, in regards to the possible transfer of its Longarone plant, as reported in VMAIL. On Wednesday, July 5, Safilo announced that advanced negotiations are in place with the entrepreneur Carlo Fulchir. Together with the potential transaction with Thélios, these negotiations would allow for the preservation of the plant's know-how and to fully relocate its current 458 workers.

Carlo Fulchir is an Italian entrepreneur linked to multiple companies, including Italian eyewear producer iVision Eyewear. On October 1, 2020, iVision Tech took over the Safilo factory in Martignacco, along with over 150 workers with twenty years of experience in the eyewear industry.

In a statement Safilo said, “The Company believes that, thanks to the ongoing full involvement of the social partners and institutions, the negotiation process can be swiftly concluded.”
