ARLINGTON, Wash.—Oculus, Inc. has announced the beginning of a strategic partnership with Ontario-based Luvo to bring new specialty care devices to the U.S. optometry and ophthalmology market. This partnership serves to equip eyecare practitioners with the best solutions in Oculus diagnostics and Luvo patient treatment. Oculus, Inc. is launching the Luvo Lucent and Darwin with intense pulse light (IPL) and radio frequency (RF) therapy, enabling ECPs to offer safe, effective and comfortable treatments to their patients in their own offices.

The IPL therapy offered through the Lucent IPL and Darwin multi- modality workstation delivers energy at several different wavelengths to treat multiple conditions. This allows eyecare practitioners to manage patients and provide treatment in their own practice, reducing the need to refer patients to external providers.

Eyecare professionals can enjoy multiple IPL applications, several pulse modes and advanced cooling technology while benefiting from the user-friendly interface that makes it easy to choose treatment parameters based on skin types.

"Maintaining our dedication to specialty eyecare, Oculus, Inc. had been searching for the ideal treatment partner to align with our premium diagnostic equipment. With Luvo’s superior quality, shared corporate values and experience in the Canadian eyecare market, we knew we had found our partner,” said TJ Flynn, director of business development for Oculus, Inc. “We look forward to introducing these devices to the market the way ECPs expect, with an emphasis on education and unparalleled customer support."
