MASON, Ohio—EyeMed, one of the U.S.' leading vision benefits companies, has appointed Matt MacDonald to the role of president. MacDonald succeeds Lukas Ruecker who, after nine years in the role, has decided to step down for personal reasons, the company announced. MacDonald has been with EyeMed since 2013 and most recently served as chief operations officer. Prior to that, he held the position of vice president of marketing and strategy for EyeMed. In his new role, MacDonald will report to Francesco Milleri, CEO of EssilorLuxottica, EyeMed’s parent company.

“Matt has a proven track record within the company. He has worked in leadership roles within EyeMed for nine years, helping to grow it into a true leader in managed vision care and beyond,” said Milleri. “We are pleased to welcome Matt into this important role.”

Milleri added, “At the same time, we’d like to express our gratitude to Lukas for his many contributions to the company. As he turns his focus to health and family, we wish him the best.”

MacDonald has over 20 years experience in operations, strategy, marketing and customer service. Before joining EyeMed, he held key roles with several companies including Accenture.
