The following industry veterans were honored at the Hall of Fame awards and Dinner held at Treasure Island. Directors’ Choice James C. Tooke, Zyloware Eyewear. Hall of Fame inductees Craig D. Giles, Walman; Michael C. Vitale, ABOM, The Vision Council; Christie Walker, Lab Talk Magazine; Dick Whitney, Carl Zeiss Vision; and John M. Young, Colts Laboratories. Upon his retirement, Mike Daley was honored by the Vision Council Lab Division with a special award. Presenting the award to Daley (l) were Hoya’s Barney Dougher (c) and The Vision Council’s Steve Sutherlin.

Lab Industry Gathers Again at Labapalooza

Labapalooza, a lab industry favorite gathering, took place here Thursday night in the Venetian Hotel. For the fourth year in a row, the party was held at the Rockhouse Las Vegas. Ultra Level Sponsors included Tribrid by PPG, The Vision Council and X-Cel Optical. Premium Level Sponsors included Coburn Technologies, Santinelli International, Ultra Optics and Digital Vision Inc.

The event provided the perfect setting to honor Lab Talk’s Editor Christie Walker, who is about to retire. She accepted a plaque from Jobson’s Tom Lamond (l) and Marc Ferrara commemorating her 19 years of service at Jobson.
