BUSINESS FYidoctors Embarks on Expansion Into the U.S. Market With Addition of Six California Eyecare Clinics By Staff Tuesday, September 21, 2021 10:20 AM SACRAMENTO, Calif. and CALGARY, Alberta—FYidoctors, known as Canada’s leading diversified health care organization, said this morning that it has expanded its geographic operations into the U.S. market with the addition of six leading eyecare clinics throughout the state of California. The foray marks a major company milestone as it marks the first time FYidoctors has added new operations outside of Canada as it continues to “focus on its patient-first, personalized customer experience,” the announcement noted.Clinics included as part of FYidoctors’ initial U.S. expansion in California include:Studio Eyes Optometry in Burbank, Northridge and Sun ValleyClearVue Eye Care, RosevillePrecision Eyecare, in Mountain View and San JoseThe practices joining FYidoctors are located throughout in key consumer markets, including Los Angeles, Mountain View, Northridge, Sun Valley, Roseville and San Jose. The U.S. operations will be led by FYidoctors vice president and chief strategy officer Dr. David Redman, who was also named 2018 AOA Optometrist of the Year. Dr. Redman is affiliated with the Precision Eyecare practice. Dr. Aaron Lech, who is affiliated with ClearVue Eye Care, has been named to the role of chief medical advisor, and will oversee all health-related aspects of the business. The pair are tasked to ensure FYidoctors’ U.S. operations, in keeping with Canadian operational standards, offers the best patient access to technology, innovation, and best-in-class training and resources for all its clinics and business units. In March 2020, the global consumer-focused private equity firm L Catterton made a strategic minority equity investment in FYidoctors, as VMAIL reported. FYidoctors management and optometrist shareholders continued to hold a significant equity interest in the business, the companies said at the time. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
