NEW YORK—Across the country, within many local communities and across the U.S., the NFIB (National Federation of Independent Business) has been advocating on behalf of America’s small and independent business owners, both in Washington, D.C., and in all 50 state capitals. NFIB is nonprofit, nonpartisan and member-driven. Since its founding in 1943, NFIB has been exclusively dedicated to small and independent businesses and remains so today. The organization provides general advocacy on a range of issues impacting small and independent business from proposed legislation to utility and tax issues.

But it’s also known for providing guidance to small and independent business managers to market, manage and operate their businesses, and get involved and raise visibility with other businesses nearby in the communities.

These are reflected in regular updates about legal matters, health care policies for small business, pending elections and a Legal Center. The group also hosts a regular podcast, Small Business Rundown—details about that are posted here.

A range of resources, can be tailored to certain types of small and independent businesses, like “retail,” for example, found here.

Much of NFIB info and resources are found on the group’s website, but Membership registration is encouraged to access information and guidance in more detail. Several members’ services, such as access to special rates on certain business support services, including credit card processing, delivery services and others, are managed through NFIB Member Services Corporation, a for-profit subsidiary of NFIB.
