GAINESVILLE, Ga.—Gainesville Eye Associates and North Georgia Eye Clinic, the two largest ophthalmology practices in North Georgia, have joined together to form North Georgia Eye Associates. Together, the two practices will share a more than 100-year legacy providing North Georgians a wide array of eyecare services, from routine preventative care to surgical repair and cosmetic procedures. "We are excited to announce this merger, as it represents a significant milestone for both practices and the communities we serve," said Dr. Jack Chapman, managing partner and ophthalmologist at Gainesville Eye Associates.

"By combining our strengths and resources, we will be able to offer an even higher level of care, advanced technologies, and a wider range of specialized services to our patients."

Gainesville Eye Associates was the first eyecare facility in Northeast Georgia to introduce the bladeless laser cataract surgery, while North Georgia Eye Clinic was recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers in 2022. Many of the doctors are repeatedly recognized as Castle Connolly and Atlanta Magazine Top Doctors. Together, the partnership will offer patients improved accessibility, including an expanded, state-of-the-art surgery center located at one of their facilities on Beverly Road (2061 Beverly Rd, Gainesville).

Dr. Matthew Kaufman, managing partner and ophthalmologist at North Georgia Eye Clinic, stated, "This merger allows us to further our commitment to exceptional patient care by leveraging the collective knowledge and expertise of our talented team. We are confident that our unified practice will set a new standard for ophthalmology in North Georgia."

The newly merged practice will operate under the name “North Georgia Eye Associates” and will continue to offer services at their existing locations, ensuring convenient access to eyecare for patients throughout the region. Patients can expect a seamless transition, with no interruption to their current appointments or treatment plans, according to the company.
