PASSAIC, N.J.—As part of an overall business strategy of expanding services for optometric medical specializations, EyeCarePro acquired the assets belonging to the Optometrists Network in July 2019. These include the related networks of vision therapy and neuro-optometric rehabilitation-related domains, such as optometrists.org, strabismus.org, and 10 other high-profile domains generating close to 3 million visitors per year. Rachel Cooper founded the Optometrists Network in 1997 as a network of websites, all focused on various aspects of vision therapy and neuro-optometry, with the aim of informing the public about the importance of these therapies to improving visual function, patient recover, and regaining quality of life.

As Daniel Rostenne, CEO of EyeCarePro noted, “At such an early stage of the development of online content, Cooper 'wove her sites' into the fabric of the web—which you could do back then. As such, her sites gained worldwide visibility and receive hundreds of thousands of visits per month from parents, professionals and health care practitioners, all making Google searches related to vision therapy topics. Rachel’s career has positively impacted countless people seeking help that vision therapy can provide. EyeCarePro’s team is honored with the task of furthering this cause.”

Seeking to pursue other interests, Rachel’s goal was to find a company that could continue to develop her legacy of expanding awareness of vision therapy. EyeCarePro was her preferred choice due to its involvement in advancing how vision therapy and neuro-optometry are marketed, both for individual practices, as well as for groups such as Vision Therapy Canada and Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association.

Regarding the current 220 members of the Optometrists Network, EyeCarePro will be holding a webinar on Oct. 3, 2019 to announce the acquisition and new services offered. Having taken place in confidential stages, this webinar is intended to announce the upcoming integration of the Optometrists Network domains, websites, and doctor finder tool into the EyeCarePro fold.

This acquisition is seen to dovetail well with the EyeCarePro brand and mission. Daniel Rostene said, “This is the perfect fit for EyeCarePro, as we’re in the business of helping practices get more patients. One of our core strengths is marketing medical specialties, and especially vision therapy and neuro-optometry. We now have arguably the most popular websites on VT related content online today. Our focus continues to be to deliver value to our customers through new patient acquisition. The Optometrists Network is the internet's leading set of educational content on many vision therapy topics. We are pleased to be able to now extend our vision therapy marketing services to include the Optometrists Network's content sites and doctor finder."

This acquisition will now allow current and future EyeCarePro neuro-optometry and vision therapy customers—and likely more— to expand their reach and get more new patients, the company pointed out.

EyeCarePro plans to expand the content significantly, modernizing the design, and improving on the doctor directories. This will make these URLs a profoundly more effective and valuable resource as information for patients, ODs, and potential referral sources alike. Meanwhile, existing optometrists network members will see their service maintained and then improved over time, the company said.
