WASHINGTON, D.C.—Four highly regarded optometrists have been named as panelists for a pair of Contact Lens Institute (CLI) online learning events scheduled for Thursday evening, March 3. Drs. Chris Lievens, Mark Schaeffer, Bridgitte Shen Lee, and Jason Tu will headline the sessions, “Making Contact Lens Compliance Stick: EASY Insights, Tips & Tools from Visionary Eye Care Pros.” Live sessions, including a participant Q&A, will be offered at both 6:30 pm EST and 6:30 pm PST. Register for the earlier session here, and the later session here. Optometrists, ophthalmologists, opticians, technicians, staff and students from the U.S. and Canada are encouraged to attend at no charge. Registration is available for the earlier session at bit.ly/EASYWayEastern and the later session at bit.ly/EASYWayPacific.

The EASY Way (Eyes, Awareness, Safety and You) program was developed—and recently expanded—to help the eyecare community promote healthy contact lens wear and care habits among patients, as VMAIL recently reported. It includes a set of simplified tips, attention-grabbing infographics, and companion digital resources for use in practices.

Contact Lens Institute board chairperson Bill Reindel, OD, MS, and board member Michele Andrews, OD, will moderate the discussion among the evening’s experts:

  • Chris Lievens, OD, MS, FNAP, FAAO, is the chief of internal clinics and professor at Southern College of Optometry. He is an industry consultant and researcher, with published works on eye disease, contact lens solutions, and optometric management.
