NEW YORK—The Doneger Group and the Accessories Council unveiled The Doneger Group/Accessories Council Classroom at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in a ribbon-cutting ceremony here last week. Funds for the classroom, used by FIT Accessories Design students, were raised by both proceeds from the Accessories Council Hall of Fame, which honored Abbey Doneger, as well as the 2015 ACE Awards Tribute Edition Journal.

The state-of-the-art classroom includes movable desks and chairs which allows the room

to be set up in any style—lecture style, quad/-group work set-up or for model drawing. The room setup includes Macbook Air laptops stored in a charging cart and available for students to use in class; desk tops that prop up to become drawing/drafting boards for traditional art classes; a printing and scanning station; and a projector and LED HD TV and sound system for presentations.

The Accessories Council, a not-for-profit international trade association, established in 1994, stimulates consumer awareness and demand for fashion accessory products. The Doneger Group is a global leader in creative, merchandising and business strategies for the retail, fashion and related industries.
