AUSTIN, Texas—OpenRoom Events, a U.K.-based events company, has announced the launch of Eyecare Forum, a fresh new event concept for the optical market in North America. Eyecare Forum connects optometrists and optical retailers with vendors through a unique blend of pre-arranged, pre-matched “speed” meetings. The first edition of this focused program—taking place in Austin, Texas this November—is designed to be “hyper-efficient” and allows for dynamic information exchanges between buyers and sellers, according to the event’s organizers.

Participating companies will come away from the event with a year’s worth of leads in only two days, they said.

Invited buyers are provided with two nights’ accommodation at the Hyatt Regency Austin and all meals while at the event. Buyers attend by invitation only. To be considered as an attending buyer, contact Christopher Steele at christopher@openroomevents.com.

In addition to attending the buying sessions with suppliers and vendors, attendees will hear from industry leaders as they examine the spectrum of consolidation, telehealth, digitalization and market disruption during general sessions. The event offers innovative vendor start-ups the chance to showcase how their products are reshaping the future of optometry and opticianry at a Next Gen talk session.

A number of vendor sponsorship and attendance packages are available. For full details on attending as a sponsor or vendor, contact Joss Varney at joss@openroomevents.com.

Jobson Optical Group will act as media sponsor to the event. Bill Scott, president, optical research, ECP & PAA, Jobson Optical Group, said, “We are continuously looking for ways to educate and inform our readers and users and are excited to provide media support to this new concept in putting buyers and sellers together. Eyecare Forum offers a new opportunity to do that.”

The event will take place November 17 and 18 in Austin, Texas at the Hyatt Regency hotel.
