SAN DIEGO—Eyes On Eyecare hosted Eyes On Glaucoma on Friday, June 18 and Saturday, June 19. The two-day virtual event was attended by 3,900 eyecare practitioners, organizers reported, noting that 98 percent of those were optometrists or ophthalmologists. Attendees took part in more than 820,000 minutes of virtual education presented by over 25 distinguished speakers. Nine sponsors participated in the exhibit hall and fielded over 8,000 booth check-ins. Organizers also said that Eyes on Glaucoma's post-event survey of 377 attendees generated a net promoter score (NPS) of 77.

Highlights of the event included seven hours of free, COPE-approved CE on cutting-edge topics in glaucoma; live group chats where attendees
discussed patient cases and asked questions of the speakers; early access to the 2021 Glaucoma Report; $3,000 in raffle prizes, and the chance to speak with representatives of top pharmaceutical, medical device, service, and other organizations in glaucoma diagnosis and management. Education sessions took place in two tracks and were moderated by Danica Marrelli, OD, FAAO and Eyes On Glaucoma program chair Justin Schweitzer, OD, FAAO. Eyes On Glaucoma 2021 was the latest Eyes On event in a series that includes the upcoming Eyes On 2022 and Eyes On Dry Eye. “As the third leading cause of blindness worldwide, glaucoma is a major focus of any eyecare practitioner operating in the medical model,” said Matt Geller, OD and CEO of CovalentCreative, the parent company of Eyes On Eyecare. “Whether you’re a glaucoma specialist or providing primary care optometry, you’re going to see it in your practice. With events like this, we see the passion and engagement our colleagues are bringing to excellent patient care, and we’re both proud and excited to provide a space for the eyecare community to share their knowledge and expertise. We’re looking forward to continuing to improve our virtual events and make Eyes On 2022, and next year’s events, even more powerful and engaging.”
