DALLAS—AEG Vision, an owner and operator of leading optometry practices across the nation, announced the acquisition of Silverbell Eyecare Center in Tucson, Ariz. The practice, which was founded in 1990 by Richard Baim, OD, becomes the 14th practice under AEG Vision’s practice group in Arizona, according to the announcement. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. AEG Vision, a portfolio company of Riata Capital Group, operates under multiple brands in Arizona, including 20/20 Image Eye Centers, Carlsson Family Eye Center, Alvernon Optical and Affinity Eye Care.

Silverbell Eyecare Center offers a full range of optometric services, including examinations for eyeglasses and contact lenses. As a full-scope optometric office, it also provides examinations and treatment options for many medical eye conditions such as dry eyes, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, pre-op evaluations, foreign body removal, and other infections and inflammations of the eyes.

“We welcome Dr. Richard Baim and his exceptional staff into the AEG Vision family,” AEG chief executive officer Eric Anderson said in the announcement. “Over the course of 30 years serving the community of Tucson, Silverbell Eyecare Center has built a legacy that aligns with AEG Vision’s core mission: to help our neighbors take care of their vision, one patient at a time.”

“I wanted a partner that would respect the history of Silverbell Eyecare,” Baim said. “AEG Vision made it clear, during the entire transition, that it would do so. I am confident that the best days for Silverbell Eyecare remain ahead.”

AEG chief development officer Joe Terzo said the group believes that Arizona is “a region that is key to AEG Vision’s expansion strategy.” He added, “We have built a thriving network in Arizona by investing in its people and resources. We look forward to partnering with more individuals like Dr. Baim who put patients first.”

Founded in March 2017, AEG Vision currently operates 155 locations under different regional brands across 12 states.
