DALLAS—Envision Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind has announced that it will host its inaugural Golf Fore Vision tournament on Monday, Nov. 11, at Bridlewood Golf Club in Flower Mound, Texas. Funds raised through the tournament will help to expand offerings as well as strengthen Envision Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind’s existing programs, which include assistive technology training, orientation and mobility instruction, Serving our Seniors, an adaptive/low vision aids store and vocational rehabilitation services, among other programs. “We are building on Envision Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind’s 88-year storied history in Dallas and identifying ways we can exceed expectations to meet the comprehensive needs of people who are blind or low vision,” Michael Monteferrante, president and CEO at Envision, said in the announcement. “We are reaching out to the community to join us on a journey of evolution that will enable us to introduce necessary youth and adult art programs, support groups, low vision rehabilitation services in a clinical setting and more.”

Envision Dallas Lighthouse, which is part of Envision Inc. (Wichita, Kan.), promotes advocacy and independence for people who are blind or visually impaired in 11 North Texas counties: Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Grayson, Hunt, Kaufman, Navarro and Rockwall.
