Franklin and Mahmood will report to Michael Guyette, VSP Global’s president and CEO. "I am thrilled to welcome these two phenomenal leaders to our team,” said Guyette. “Earnie and Alec bring with them deep health care expertise that will help further strengthen and accelerate our organization’s focus on expanding access to eyecare and eyewear.” Franklin joins VSP Global from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, with over 20 years of experience in health care and technology and is skilled in helping connect technology outcomes with organizational strategies. Franklin’s deep experience in health care technology spans core business capability platforms to front office and customer relationship management tools. He led IT and Information Security efforts for Triserv Alliance LLC, a start-up focused on helping health care companies bid on Tricare contracts, and was instrumental at leading growth strategy at Incepture, a former wholly owned subsidiary of Florida Blue that provided health care staffing, consulting and managed solutions. During his tenure at Incepture, Franklin helped deliver 400 percent revenue growth in a five-year period, the company said. He holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Jacksonville University. Mahmood has more than two decades of experience in health care finance in a variety of organizations, from publicly held organizations to private equity firms. Most recently, Mahmood worked for Prime Therapeutics, a pharmacy benefit management company, with responsibilities spanning across finance, strategy and cost-of-care management. He served as CFO for some of the nation's largest managed care companies, such as Health Net and Coventry Health, as well as leadership roles working with some of the largest private equity firms in the U.S., including Blackstone and Goldman Sachs. He holds a master’s degree in Health Administration from University of Southern California and was recognized as CFO of the year by the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal in 2017.
