Product: HEA Practice Booster Program
Top Line: Healthy Eyes Advantage (HEA) announced the development of its Practice Booster program for providing independent eyecare professionals (IECPs) with a simplified approach for leveraging new technology, new services, and new methods for growing and enhancing revenue. The first HEA Practice Booster, available now, supports IECPs in establishing an AMD sub-specialty within their practice, with two additional Practice Boosters to follow later this year and more to be added in 2021.
Close Up: Each HEA Practice Booster strategically combines a group of unique vendor partners within a specific practice niche that enables the creation of new revenue opportunities through a broader service scope or other practice enhancements. Although presented together, each Booster component can be implemented individually, with no obligation to adopt all aspects of the Booster.
Initial HEA Practice Boosters include the following:
• Age-Related Macular Degeneration, available now, brings together a comprehensive suite of offerings to expand AMD diagnosis and treatment, while enhancing profitability. HEA has demonstrated that the addition of just one AMD patient per week can increase annual revenue by $65,000, with significant additional revenue potential from screening services and prescribing nutraceutical products to patients without AMD. HEA’s AMD Practice Booster includes five crucial components:
• Dark adaptometry for early detection and diagnosis, with technology by MacuLogix;
• Retinal imaging, featuring the latest Ocular Coherence Tomography from Optovue and Ultra-widefield imaging (UWF) from Optos
• Nutraceuticals from MacuHealth, to aid in delaying the onset of AMD and prolonging visual function in patients with AMD; and
• Blue light lenses and treatments by Hoya, to protect retinal health against blue light from both natural and digital sources.
• Innovative tech, coming later this year, will bring the newest and most cutting-edge technology to assist IECPs in remaining forward-focused with services not yet widely available; and
• Medical software essentials, also to be introduced later this year, will support IECP practices in becoming fully outfitted to drive medical revenue growth.
“While diversification and differentiation are always top of mind for practice owners, these are particularly vital topics as IECPs seek to recover lost revenue and chart a new course forward amid the ongoing pandemic. HEA’s new Practice Boosters provide the perfect roadmap for thriving both now and in the future,” stated HEA Chairman and CEO Jim McGrann. “Because the Practice Boosters were designed and vetted by HEA’s National Advisory Board of practicing IECPs, led by Justin Manning, OD, MPH, FAAO, Executive VP of Professional Strategies, we are confident that they include an array of high-return options that will allow each HEA member to choose the best strategies for his or her practice.”
