BENSENVILLE, Ill.—Luneau Technology Group has acquired Next Sight, an Italian company specializing in retinal screening and telehealth. The terms of the transaction were not announced. Next Sight CEO Paola Griggio, PhD, MBA, will continue to manage retinal projects and will take up a key leadership role as vice president of telehealth for Luneau Technology Group. Luneau said in a press release that Next Sight brings “experience and a robust technology pipeline which will help Luneau Technology Group develop and deliver a range of telehealth solutions to the visual health market.”

Complementary activities between the two companies, and their respective experience, will “facilitate the extension of Luneau’s product solutions and delivery of care to the visual health sector,” according to Luneau.

In recent years, Luneau has made significant acquisitions in the U.S. and Europe to sustain its growth and increase its proximity to eyecare professionals. The acquisition of Next Sight is fully in line with the company’s strategic plans and future ambitions, the company said.
