Top Line: This week’s show features Drs. Adam Ramsey and Darryl Glover, the co-founders of Black Eyecare Perspective, a group designed and created to cultivate and foster lifelong relationships between African Americans and the eyecare industry. Dr. Ramsey who practices in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. was born and raised In Trinidad and Tobago. He is the CEO of Socialite Vision and founder of Health Focus South Florida. He is a graduate of Southern College of Optometry. Dr. Darryl Glover, of Raleigh-Durham, N.C., is the founder of EyeSee Euphoria. He is a graduate of Salus PCO College of Optometry. The live program will be anchored from Boston, Massachusetts by New England College of Optometry president and CEO, Howard Purcell, OD, FAAO, with Erik Liljegren, InsideVision Correspondent At-Large. Said Dr. Purcell, "What can the eyecare community do to contribute to a better understanding and sensitivity to the challenges black and brown current and future members of the profession face, while together finding solutions? How can we all improve our racial literacy? How do we assure an environment that is welcoming and supportive? We must have honest and open discussions. How can we create forums to have the important discussions? Some are instigating and leading and Adam and Darryl are among those leaders.
