NEW YORK—Technology is everywhere these days, helping folks improve just about every aspect of their lives—and eyewear is no exception. In VisionMonday.com’s last Quick Poll, we asked ECPs which emerging eyewear technologies they anticipate generating the most interest in their customers.

Nearly half (48 percent) said personalized lenses would be the hot eyewear category in 2011. Personalized lens technology allows you to offer optical lenses that fit your customers’ individual needs, and the technology can be adapted for unique physiologies.

Surprised that 3D eyewear—with the deluge of 3D films being released by Hollywood—wasn’t the top pick? It was actually a close second, with 33 percent of ECPs choosing the trendy choice. Finally, 19 percent of respondents said that adjustable focus eyewear will spark interest with their patients/customers.
