What a day, what a week, what a football game for Glen Joseph, OD, of Boca Raton, Fla., and the entire Joseph family. Glen’s son, Greg, was signed by the Cleveland Browns as a kicker early last week as the NFL team sought a replacement for Zane Gonzalez, who had missed two field goals and two extra points in the team’s previous game, a loss to the New Orleans Saints. Until Thursday, though, losing was more or less routine for the Browns. But, Thursday night at Cleveland’s FirstEnergy Stadium, there stood Greg Joseph on the field decked out in a Browns uniform (No. 17). He certainly turned out to be ready to do his part in helping the Browns record their first victory in 635 days, a 21-17 defeat of the New York Jets. (The Browns finished 0-16 in the 2017 season and were in the midst of a 19-game winless streak that dated to Dec. 24, 2016.) Joseph, who played collegiately at Florida Atlantic University, made field goals of 45 and 27 yards and also converted his only extra-point kick against the Jets, giving him a total of 7 points in the game. Glen Joseph practices in Pompano Beach, Fla.
